Here’s a thought provoking article about shopping and retail outlets. So how do we feel about recent news that more of our lovely shops are fast disappearing?
Sales all over the place all the time, that just can’t be right can it? There is no wonder that high street shops are closing down rapidly leaving sad, empty spaces in our town centres.
We know that all major town shops are declining in numbers. Our smaller retail establishments are finding things difficult too. This is obviously a subject that is close to my heart as I run my own retail business.
I myself, buy very little online for my own personal use, and much prefer to shop locally whenever I can. I cannot lie, I enjoy browsing sometimes and often spend ages looking and go back in the end to the very first thing that I spotted!! ( much to the frustration of anyone who is with me ).
Yes indeed, shopping alone is always the best option for me.
Shopping locally, even in a small way, is something that we can all do to help our local businesses to grow and prosper.
As the saying goes “use it or lose it”, how true this is turning out to be.
So if you haven’t done a bit of retail therapy actually browsing the shops recently, then why not give it a go for a change. Tear yourself away from the laptop, iPad or phone and buy something from a shop instead of online.
Every little bit helps, and just maybe we can all help to save our town centre shops from becoming a thing of the past.
