I have been learning a new skill to add that extra personalised touch to some of my handmade jewellery designs. Yes, the metal stamping kit has arrived…..
Well this is such fun! There is something rather satisfying about whacking a piece of metal with a hammer ?
There is of course a method to getting the stamp just right and making sure that the indent is deep enough and positioned correctly, so it isn’t quite as easy as I thought it would be. Well after a lot of practise hammering, I finally worked out the best way to get the desired result.
My full set of letters and numbers means that I will be able to add initials or a short name to some of my jewellery in the form of a shiny aluminum tag. These little tags make a nice charm addition to a pendant necklace or bracelet.
Take a peek at my first pendant necklace design which has become a part of my Sea Love selection in store.
This week I am planning on working on some more SeaLove designs which is one of my favourite jewellery collections in store. I am a lover of the coast, sandy beaches and the expanse of the sea are very important in my life and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.
I am lucky to live on the coast and enjoy fabulous walks on the cliff tops or along the sand on a regular basis drawing inspiration for some of my designs.
So watch this space for more seaside themed jewellery, and indeed for a bit more action in the metal stamping department!
